Paul has served as managing director of Stack Chartered since 1976. He counsels a wide variety of clients on intellectual property, licensing issues, and serves as local counsel in commercial litigation pending in Chicago’s federal and state courts. His practice is concentrated on trademark and copyright prosecution, licensing, and enforcement, patent litigation, and maintenance of international intellectual property portfolios.

Paul is a visible figure in Chicago’s civic community. He was appointed by Mayor Harold Washington to serve on the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on the design and construction of Chicago’s new Central Library (now the Harold Washington Library Center), and was reappointed to that position by Mayor Eugene Sawyer upon the death of Mayor Washington. Paul has also served in various elected positions, including Village President of Riverside, Illinois, the Board of Education of Riverside’s high school, a Trustee of a Riverside’s public library, and a Governing Member of the Brookfield Zoo.
